The University College of Jaffna was established in November 2014 under the University of Vocational Technology. As we approach our 10th year of excellence, we have organized numerous outbound programs over the past months.
Logo Competition
The logo competition was announced to provide an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate artistic ability and leave an
indelible imprint on our University College.
We invited all students of the University College of Jaffna to participate in our logo competition.
This logo design will be used as the official logo for 10th anniversary celebrations, showcased on the promotion material.
The best logo design was selected by the panel members among the submitted logos in the competition.

Blood Donation
The blood donation campaign was held on February 29, 2024, at University College premises.
The Teaching Hospital doctors, nurses, and other staff members came to the University College premises to check the health condition of students and University College staff, and blood was
collected on this occasion.
More than 100 blood donors participated in this campaign.
Farmer Awareness Program
1st Phase
To mark the 10th anniversary celebration of University College, students of Farm Machinery Technology conducted first phase of Farmer Awareness Program in collaboration with Thaayin Care Pvt. Ltd., funded by World Vision, on March 21st and March 26th, 2024. The event witnessed the participation of 60 farmers at Chavakachcheri.
2nd Phase
Students of Farm Machinery Technology conducted the second phase of Farmer Awareness Programme in collaboration with Agrarian Service Center – Tholpuram and Thaayin Care Pvt. Ltd., on May 20th, 2024. The event witnessed the participation of 100 farmers and staff from Tholpuram, Chulipuram and Moolai.

Awareness Talk on Stroke
This program was held on 23rd August 2024 with collaboration of the Diabetes Association Jaffna.
Dr. (Mrs.) Ajantha Keshavaraj, Neurologist at Teaching Hospital Jaffna, participated as a resource person.
Staff and students of UCJ were participated in the workshop.
Workshop for Engineering Technology Teachers
This workshop was held on 30th August 2024 with collaborating four departments (Building Services Technology, Construction Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Production Technology).
Above 40 teachers from northern province schools were participated in the workshop.
Interschool Quiz Competition
We as the prime Vocational Institute in the Northern province would like to take lead in promoting creativity and innovative spirit among school children. We invited the school community of Jaffna District to join our 10th anniversary celebrations by organizing the interschool quiz competition.
The quiz competition consists of two phases: a preliminary written test and an on-stage quiz competition. Twenty schools participated in the preliminary written test, which was held on October 4, 2024. The top ten teams qualified for the on-stage competition, which took place on October 11, 2024.
